Need help? This is the place to look! Below are some basic tips and how to’s for navigating this site.

General Site Help:

• To write a comment: Scroll to the bottom of the page to the “Leave A Comment” box. Enter your comment in the box and click “submit comment”. If there is no “Leave A Comment” box at the bottom of the page, click the red words that say # comments (the number will change depending on the number of comments). Then scroll to the bottom of the page to type in your comment.
• To view posts from previous months: On the side panel, under archives, there will be a list of all the months that the site has been around for. Click on one to view the posts from that month.
• If you just want to check new posts on the site click on the title “zatetic” at the top of the screen. By clicking on this, you will be brought to the “home” page of this blog, which displays the most recent posts.
• To view all posts in a certain category, simply select the category on the right side of the screen.
• If an image is cut off click on the image to enlarge it. If the picture does not respond, please let us know–this may happen in response to either low memory or a problem with the site.

Widget Help:

• What is a tag cloud? A tag cloud is a list of all the tags we use in our posts. The bigger the word, the more posts with that tag
• I can’t see some of the widgets. Perhaps you don’t have flash or java installed. Please install those, and the sidebar widgets should work fine.
• What is a blogroll? A blogroll is a list of links to some of our favorite websites. Click the link to visit the site!
• To preview a link (or an RSS feed of the link*) hover your mouse over a link until the “snap preview” pop-up window appears. The window will show an RSS feed of the site, or a mini-picture of the site. If you don’t want to bother with RSS, just subscribe to us by email. You’ll get automatic updates whenever a new article is published!

Message Board Help:

1) Do I need to register? And if so, how? Do I need to include any personal information?
You do not need to register to simply view the board, but if you want to post messages and join the community, you do have to. To register, just click the link in the upper right hand corner. You must include your email address and birthdate. please use your real one for verificaton (and a b-day surprise!)

2) What is the difference between a forum, topic, and post?
Think of the message board as a magazine.
A forum is like a whole section of the magazine, like the Advice or Letters to the editor.
A topic is like one article ex: Obama vs. Clinton who will win the Democratic Primary??
A post is not really like a magazine at all. A post is more like AIM. On aim, each person types something. Think of each time they hit enter or press send, they’re making a new post, adding to the conversation.

3) How do I post?
Just click the button in any forum (will only work if you’re registered)

4) What are the different groups and how do I join one?
Groups: Administrators, Global Moderators, Moderators, Staff.
You can only join a group if you are on the staff. But that’s easy. Just click HERE to fill out an application!

NEW FEATURE ALERT!!! If you want to make a usergroup (like a club), pm (see #7) a moderator/admin with your proposed group name, description, purpose, etc. If we like your group, we’ll make it for you, as well as giving you your own group board

5) I see a bunch of restrictions on some of the posts, what are they for?
There are restricted actions on some posts because these actions are reserved for admins only. Sorry. Some restrictions go away if you register.

6) What is a sticky topic?
A sticky topic is like a reminder: it always stays on top of all the topics in a forum. It’s a good idea to read these before posting in that forum.

7) What is a pm?
pm stands for Private Message. You can pm someone if you want to chat with them, but not on the public boards. Do not use this for “evil”, because admins can screen Private Messages. We can see what you write!! (dun dun dunnn) How do I edit/delete a post?
If the post is yours, just visit the post and click “edit” or “delete”. You can not edit/delete other users’ posts.
